We acted to architects for the development of residential accommodation on a brownfield regeneration site located in Mapperley, Nottingham. The scheme creates 24 apartments within a new build residential blocks, incorporating a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bed apartments.
Difficult planning negotiations were handled by Darnton EGS and due to the terrain of the site a contiguous pile retaining wall was constructed to adjacent properties which were designed to act as a living wall. An underground tunnel to part of the site also had to be dealt with by the team.
The traditional, but contemporary feel development fits well into the streetscape which includes mixed and varied materials and styles adding to the design challenge. The result is high quality focal development on a pivitol junction meeting client and planner aspirations.
