Darnton EGS acted as architect for Castledyke School, a project to extend and refurbish an existing primary school at Barton-on-Humber. The project was carried under a partnering contract, with application of a risk sharing mechanism. Design was based upon the use of colour and soft curving walls with corridors omitted, instead replaced with a single wide internal street linking all classrooms.

The firm also acted as architect for the Ashby Link, a 2000m², two-storey, multimedia educational facility in Scunthorpe. The building houses facilities including a sound studio, art room, open learning areas and information technology hardware, all available to the local community. 

Our design for the layout was formed around a central exhibition space, space that also carries through to the external environs allowing use to be made of the whole site area.
