Darnton EGS were appointed to transform a single storey extended building into a modern and inviting community and educational facility. The project included the creation of new art gallery and teaching suites, plus internal alterations, part funded by the National Lottery

The new art gallery was created at first floor level above an existing upgraded canteen, together with new classrooms, a language lab in the basement, an art room, dance studio and four bedrooms for visiting lecturers. Internal circulation was completely reorganised to accommodate disabled persons and to separate private and public functions.
