TS Architects gain planning for Linden Homes

Planning Permission has been obtained for two residential developments on behalf of client Linden Homes.

TS Architects worked to secure permission for 150 units on a site at South Milford whilst at Huntington, York, planning permission has been gained for a development of 32 units, including 8 social houses.

The Huntington scheme includes a retail community store and Veterinary Surgery on behalf of Yorvale Properties.

Darnton EGS appointed to YORconsult framework

Darnton EGS have been successful in the bid process to be appointed to the YORconsult framework agreement. The firm have been appointed under Lot 5: Architecture for the West and South areas.

YORconsult forms part of a collaborative approach to procurement in the Yorkshire and Humber Region. Any of the region’s 22 Local Authorities and various other public bodies and Registered Charities within the region will be able to access the framework to call off work.

Hallam Hall complete

Appointed to a framework agreement for Architecture, Darnton EGS have completed the refurbishment of Hallam Hall on behalf of client Sheffield Hallam University.

The project included the upgrade of facilities within an existing multi-purpose hall, together with refurbished entrance and reception areas.

Acoustics have been fully modernised and facility now provides a venue for functions, lectures, exams and cat walk fashion shows.

M&S Plan A Awards - Shortlisted

Darnton EGS were delighted to be shortlisted in the Partnership Award category of the 2012 M&S Plan A Awards.

Darnton EGS were shortlisted for their role in creating real results, managing a close relationship with M&S joint venture partner the University of Leeds, from design to construction, and also achieving BREEAM Excellent status.

M&S Leeds Archives now open to the public

Darnton EGS are proud to report the launch of the M&S new company archive (The Michael Marks Building) at University of Leeds. This includes the exhibit ‘Marks in Time’ and is open to the public from tomorrow morning.

Darnton EGS acted as M&S Clients Agent in shadowing the design of the shell and as Interior Architects for the M&S areas including the exhibition space and BS5454 designed archive storage.

Primark Portsmouth

The extension has been created through the conversion of space within the adjacent former Woolworths store.

Retail Development Felling

Planning application has been lodged for a Retail Park Development in Felling to Gateshead Council.

The proposals include a major anchor retail store, two hundred car spaces and other retail units.

Planning consent is anticipated in the Spring 2012.

Darnton EGS assist Cornwall College campus redevelopment plans

Darnton EGS are currently progressing designs for several new build and refurbishment projects, due to commence at Cornwall College in 2012, including the rationalisation of existing multi-departmental buildings together with new-build and refurbishment elements.

A purpose built animal care unit and a new build sustainable teaching unit are part of the developments.

Phoenix House, Southall

Works are on site for the conversion of former offices to residential accommodation in Southall on behalf of Vascroft. A new five storey extension is being added to the existing structure, which in total will create 180 apartments. The scheme is completed by the addition of a new library at street level. Darnton EGS act as architects for the project.
