Marks & Spencer Liverpool was the venue for the presentation of the Highly Commended prize in the 2010 Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists Open Award for Technical Excellence in Architectural Technology.
Darnton EGS have been awarded the accolade for the refurbishment and conservation of this listed city centre store. Originally constructed in 1867, the building is one of the oldest purpose built department stores in Europe.
Mark Feely MCIAT, who was Senior Architectural Technologist involved in the project, accepted the award on behalf of the firm from CIAT President Barry Le Beuvant.
Darnton EGS were also the recipient of the Highly Commended prize in the 2009 awards, for the Creative Arts Building at the University of Huddersfield.
